Julie's Story

I am the victim of child sexual abuse. From a very young age I can remember my birth father touching me to the point where I had to be sent to the hospital because I was bleeding from the vagina. I was only four years old but my mother stayed with him and had 2 more children. That is five children in total she had with my birth father. She then left my birth father and moved in with my step father who molested myself and my other two older sisters.

All our lives my mother has told us to get over it. That it happened a long time ago. In the last five years we have stopped speaking with my mother who supports my step father all the way.

We have since charged my step father and he is doing five years in prison for the sexual and physical abuse of myself and my sisters.

This is the hardest thing I have ever done and continues to be an uphill battle.

I am know going through therapy to try to heal from all the abuse I endured for years.

I would like to tell everyone who is physically and sexually abused to keep fighting and do what you have to do for yourself to heal.

There are all kinds of people out there to talk to and to help people like us deal with this trauma.

I still feel sad and hurt but I know I am on the right path to healing.
